Bomber recruit Adam Saad explains why he wanted to return home
Adam Saad is very clear about his priorities.
The new Bomber, a devout Muslim, has told Sportsday it is family first, religion second, and everything else comes after.
“I’m very close to my family and being away from them for the last few years has really taken its toll on me,” Saad said on Monday evening.
“For me, I felt isolated at times on the Gold Coast.”
Saad said the biggest challenge for him had been spending the month of Ramadan on his own.
Essendon landed Saad on Monday in exchange for their second-round pick in next year’s draft.
