Leigh Matthews says Adelaide should be demanding pick 1 in the national draft for Jake Lever.

The defender has boldly declared he’ll be playing for Melbourne next season, however, a trade will need to be agreed on otherwise he’ll be forced into the draft.

The Crows are said to be demanding two first round picks.

But Leigh said he’d be asking for a far more juicy prize.

“He’s a proven player at 21,” Matthews said on 3AW.

“If pick 1 this year ends up being like Jake Lever, you’d be pretty happy.

“I can’t work it out.

“The draft is a raffle.”
