One of Australia’s best-loved comedians Wil Anderson’s is gearing up for the Melbourne International Comedy Festival.

But he’s back first on TV screens as host of the gala this weekend on the ABC from 8.30pm.

It can be a task, to keep them all on track.

‘You know you have 20 of the funniest people in the world,’ he said.

‘It’s less like hosting, it’s more like wrangling.’

He spoke to Denis Walter about growing up in Heyfield, how he knew he wasn’t fit for farm life and where he gets his material from.

He’s even got the names sorted for his comedy shows in the coming years.

‘Mostly I just use Adam Hills’ material because everyone thinks we are the same person,’ he joked.
