Latest lamb commercial leaves Hindu community less than impressed
The latest campaign promoting lamb has angered the Hindu community has been branded “highly insensitive” by a prominent community leader.
Meat & Livestock Australia’s latest commercial features a number of religious figures – including Jesus, Buddha and Greek goddess Aphrodite – sitting around a lamb lunch.
Ganesha is also pictured eating the lamb lunch, despite being considered a vegetarian by followers of the Hindu faith.
Mr Mohit Kumar, President of the Council of Indian Australians, has called for the commercial to be taken off the air.
“It’s highly insensitive and inappropriate,” Mr Kumar said on 3AW Drive.
