There’s a call for child killers to be sent to jail for life.

Victims of Crime Commissioner Greg Davies has made the call after alarming new figures were revealed showing the number of women killed in Victoria has almost doubled in a year.

Data released by the Coroners Court of Victoria, shows every 12 days a woman or child was killed in 2016.

Mr Davies says child killer ‘mongrels’ deserve life.

‘If you take away, on average now, more than 80 years of someone’s life, it’s a fair and reasonable assumption, from many in the community, that you should forfeit your liberty for the rest of your life.’

Davies says, ‘That seems to be a reasonable quid pro quo.’ 

‘We can’t just sit back and do nothing,’ he tells 3AW Mornings.
