BLOG: Third Test Australia vs Pakistan at the WACA

Australia dominate ODI 3 at the WACA against Pakistan to win by 7 wickets and go 2-1 up in the 5 match series.

Steve Smith was imperious as he notched another century, finishing unbeaten on 108 to easily get Australia home against Pakistan.  In this, his 79th ODI innings, he surpassed George Bailey and Michael Bevan to become the fastest Australian to score 3000 ODI runs.  Fan favourite Peter Handscomb rode his luck to record 82 off 84 in his ODI debut.  Surviving a third ball duck which would have had the home side reeling at 3/47 Handscombe made the most of the opportunity and in partnership with this skipper Smith coasted home to victory.

A competitive total from Pakistan and by no means an easy chase for Australia given recent batting collapse.  Top score for Babar Azam (84) joined a select group becoming joint fastest ODI 1000 runs in 21 innings.
