Las Ramblas ‘carnage’: 5 suspects shot and at least 14 dead in Barcelona
Spanish police say they have killed five suspects in Cambrils, about two hours south-west of Barcelona, to stop what they say was a second attempted attack.
Police warned people to stay off the streets.

At least 14 people have been killed in Spain, when a van ploughed into a crowd in Barcelona.
The Catalonia Interior Minister says at least 80 others have been injured in what police are calling a terrorist attack.
Two people are believed to have been arrested, with local media reporting a third suspect died in a shootout with police.
Driss Oukabir (above), 28, who police had named earlier as having rented the van used in the attack, was the first to be arrested.
3AW Breakfast has been told at least two of the injured are Melbourne men.
Melbourne mother Raelene broke down as she told Ross and John her son, on holiday in Barcelona, was told by a hotel concierge that his two friends were injured in the terror attack.
Australian man Gil Van Der Venne told Ross and John he saw the horror unfold from his hotel balcony after day of sight-seeing.
“15 minutes later we’re looking over the balcony … and there it is all happening in front of you,” he said.
“You hear this screaming, the mayhem.
“There was at least five bodies that I saw – at least three of them are still there now with body bags, so you’d imagine they’ve passed.
“The van, I believe, had probably travelled about three-quarters down Las Ramblas.”
