Brisbane coach Chris Fagan has revealed he text Rodney Eade after he was sacked as coach of the Gold Coast.

Speaking on Sportsday, the first-year coach said he reached out to Eade, just days before the Lions prepared to face-off against their Queensland rival.

“I just told him I was available to have a chat if he wanted and I was disappointed he lost the job,” Fagan explained.

“I’m obviously not at the club, but I thought from a distance they’d had a lot of trouble with injuries.”
