Police have charged a 26-year-old man following the Bourke Street rampage on Friday.

Five people lost their lives and dozens of others were injured.

The man allegedly deliberately drove into a number of pedestrians in the Bourke Street Mall vicinity around 1.30pm.

The Windsor man has been charged with five counts of murder with other charges pending.

He has been remanded to appear in court in August.
