Hundreds of front line police have been taken off the streets in the wake of Victoria Police’s latest gun holster flaw.

As revealed by Neil Mitchell on Tuesday, new gun holsters have been recalled because of a design flaw.

Now 3AW Mornings have been told about 350 officers who were already given the new holster have had to hand it in, and subsequently moved to desk duties until they get their old holster back.

Police chiefs have assured Neil Mitchell rosters have been maneuvered to ensure patrol gaps are filled.

“But still, if you’re moving 350 off the road, at some stage it has to catch up with you, surely?” Neil Mitchell said today.

“It’s an amazing mess.
