Cars damaged after Melbourne airport shuttle bus smashes through fence
WELCOME HOME: A number of cars have been damaged after a Melbourne airport shuttle bus allegedly lost control and smashed through a car park fence.
Nine cars were damaged by the Long Term Car Park bus, travelers are expected to be contacted in the coming days.
The airport is supplying drivers with transport vouchers and refunds, while the damaged cars have been covered with tarps until the travelers return.
Melbourne Airport released the following statement to 3AW Breakfast:
“I can confirm there was an incident with a third party service provider in our Long Term Car Park, which caused damage to nine cars.
We are contacting the drivers affected to let them know of the incident and to organise assistance on their return. We are also providing transport vouchers and parking refunds.
Melbourne Airport is facilitating the claims process with the third party service provider.
We understand this is distressing for the travellers involved so we’re doing our best to ensure they’re informed and have all the right contact details to make further arrangements.”
