School staff member arrested over child grooming allegations
Parents at a school in the outer suburbs of Melbourne have been informed a teacher has been arrested over child grooming allegations.
Sophie, which is not her real name, contacted Neil Mitchell after receiving an official letter from Beaconhills College in Berwick alerting them to the arrest.
While it is believed the staff member is a teacher who taught at a different campus than her child, she said it was of great concern.
In a statement, police say a man was arrested at Berwick yesterday following allegations of child grooming.
Investigators arrested a 42-year-old Narre Warren South man in relation to allegations spanning over the last 12 months.
The man has been bailed to appear at the Dandenong Magistrates’ Court on 28 April, charged with child grooming and sexual assault.
