Victoria Police marks anniversary with female-only shifts
RUMOUR CONFIRMED
Two entire north metro divisions of Victoria Police have marked the 100 year anniversary of women in the force with female-only operational shifts.
Madge Connor and Elizabeth Beers were appointed as agents in Victoria Police on this day in 1917.
Superintendent Lisa Hardeman told Ross and John the all-female shifts took some organising, but shows the force continues to push toward equality.
“We thought it was a really good way to celebrate,” she said.
