RUMOUR CONFIRMED

UPDATE: Three people wanted over a carjacking in Newport have been arrested at a home in Altona.

Police say a 59-year-old man had his car stolen at knife-point at the corner of Farm Street and Home road shortly before 7am on Wednesday.

A 17-year-old was arrested in Point Cook about 45 minutes later, the vehicle located nearby.

Three more suspects were arrested and another vehicle seized some hours later.
