Plant of the Week
If you’re looking for a plant that will make your dull winter garden look alive again, look no further than a Herbaceous Peony.
They love the winter cold, thriving in the frost unlike many other plants.
The herbaceous peony is a romantic plant, with its rose like appearance and bright pink palate.
There is an old Chinese saying about peonies:
“The first year they sleep, the second year they creep, and the third year they leap.”
And did you know, Chinese boys and girls used to exchange peonies as tokens of affection in 6th century BC?
Peonies will cost about $20 for a big bulb, found at most nurseries.
