Tom Elliott slams discrimination commissioner’s ‘Invasion Day’ comments

Giridharan Sivaraman is Australia’s Race Discrimination Commissioner, however he thinks Australia is a racist country.
Sivaraman says Australia’s institutions “maintain white power and privilege”, and labels Australia Day as “Invasion Day”.
3AW Mornings host Tom Elliott thinks Sivaraman has done quite well out of Australia, despite speaking about the country’s supposed systemic racism.

“We’re paying this bloke to tell us how awful we are,” Elliott said on 3AW Mornings.
“He earns four times the average pay, courtesy of the taxpayer.”
Prominent Indigenous leader, Warren Mundine, said he was “flabbergasted” by the comments made by the racial discrimination commissioner.
“We’ve gotten rid of all the race laws here in Australia, and everyone is treated equal now, and we’re building a great country,” Mundine told Tom Elliott.

“Do we have some racism in this country? Sure, we have some racism in this country just like every other country in the world.”
