A diabetic driver has had his licence suspended due to a significant backlog in processing medical paperwork at VicRoads.

Louise says her 24-year-old son with type one diabetes submitted his medical results in early January and only just received his suspension in the last week.

“We didn’t know he didn’t have a licence until we went onto the VicRoads website to check, because we hadn’t heard anything,” she told 3AW Drive.
