Tom Elliott calls for youth offenders to be treated like Tony Mokbel

The “harsh conditions” imposed as part of Tony Mokbel’s bail conditions should be a model for youth offenders, according to Tom Elliott.
The drug kingpin was granted bail under strict conditions, including the wearing of an ankle bracelet, curfew and smartphone ban.
It led the 3AW Mornings host to wonder whether some of the state’s worst youth offenders should be treated in a similar fashion if they are to avoid jail time.

“Our justice system can impose harsh conditions as it has on Tony Mokbel,” he said on 3AW Mornings.
“But it doesn’t impose similar harsh conditions on young criminals.”
