Essendon captain Zach Merrett has told 3AW’s Wide World of Sports the club is “on the right path” in the lead-up to their round 1 clash against Hawthorn at the MCG.

Merrett addressed Brad Scott’s coaching extension during the week, and has hyped up the Dons’ young brigade.

“We feel like anything is possible this season,” Merrett said.
