A woman remains in a stable condition in hospital following a suspected random shooting at Sunshine.

The victim, aged in her 60s, says she initially heard a gun going off in a nearby reserve shortly before 5pm on Monday.

When she looked over her back fence to try to find out what was going on – a bullet hit her arm.

The woman was then taken to hospital.

Investigators are unsure if the shooting was intentional or a ricochet.

They searched the area on Monday but couldn’t locate the offender or the weapon.

Anyone with information is urged to come forward.
