Port Adelaide explains decision to part ways with senior coach at end of 2025

Port Adelaide football boss Chris Davies has explained why the club has opted for a coaching succession plan, which will see Ken Hinkley exit the club at the end of 2025.
Hinkley will hand over the reins to long-time assistant coach Josh Carr, who has signed a three-year deal to become senior coach from 2026.
Davies told Jimmy Bartel he expects the succession plan to be successful, largely due to the mutual respect Hinkley and Carr share.

“He’s made that decision over the last couple of weeks,” he said on Wide World of Sports.
“We thought it was best to get (do the announcement) before the season starts … to end speculation and make sure we are really clear on what the future looks like.”
