Man slashed with machete during frightening attempted carjacking in St Kilda
A man is in hospital after his head was slashed with a machete, during an attempted carjacking in St Kilda.

Police believe two offenders approached the man near the intersection of Barkly and Carlisle streets last night, demanding he hand over his car keys.
One of the offenders struck the man with a machete, and was later taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police were quick to arrive and search the area, but could not find the attackers.
The male offender is perceived to be Caucasian in appearance with brown hair and has a distinctive blonde mullet. He was wearing a black jumper, black pants and black runners.
The female is described as having dark hair and was wearing a black puffer vest with the brand Hoodrich, white hoodie underneath with black pants.
