Australian expat James Willis says he’s lost his entire property as a result of the devastating fires that are ripping through parts of Los Angeles.

Five people have now died and hundreds of properties have been burnt down, with high winds and humidity driving the blazes.

In an emotional interview with Tony Jones on 3AW Mornings, Mr Willis spoke about the devastation that has badly affected his community in the Pacific Palisades neighbourhood.

“An hour ago I actually found out I lost my house,” he said.

“I’ve lost everything, everything is gone.”
