Senator Jacqui Lambie is blaming the local state government for two new Spirit of Tasmania ships not running between Geelong and Devenport.

The Spirit of Tasmania IV and its sister ship V remain in Scotland, with issues in Devenport delaying the introduction of the two new vessels to the popular route.

Ms Lambie teed off at the situation on 3AW Mornings, saying the “incompetence” must be fixed.

“We’re just blown away in Tasmania,” she told Tony Jones.

“You just have to blame the state government, I had blaming people but it’s just incompetence.”

Ms Lambie also continued her crusade against the new stadium planned for Hobart, which she says the state can’t afford to build.
