Los Angeles is in the grip of an “end of days” natural disaster as multiple out-of-control wildfires burn in the area.

At least two people have died and hundreds of properties have been destroyed, with high winds hampering efforts to control the blazes.

Nine News US correspondent Jonathan Kearsley – who is in badly-damaged Pacific Palisades area – told 3AW Breakfast it was “armageddon” across the city.

“Armageddon and apocalyptic – describe what you want,” he told Jimmy Bartel and Mark Allen.

“(This feels like) end of days. There’s flattened homes everywhere I’ve been to.”
