More details have come to light on the fatal Footscray crash which occurred on Ballarat Road at 4:30am this morning

It’s revealed the Police Air Wing was monitoring the stolen truck, which smashed into a car, killing a 67-year-old Taylors Hill man, and the truck driver was on bail for charges back in November.

“It’s a devastating indictment on where we are,” 3AW host Heidi Murphy said.

Assistant Commissioner for Road Policing, Glenn Weir, then shed more light on the “catastrophic” collision and the bail conditions surrounding the truck driver.

“If he’s found guilty of all that we suspect and allege, I hope that there’s serious, serious consequences for him,” the top roads cop said about the truck driver.
