Police are negotiating with a man on the roof of a property in Norlane, north of Geelong this afternoon and are urging people to avoid the area.

3AW Drive was originally alerted to the incident when Andrea called in to reveal police had swarmed Portland Street.

“Police are on scene at a siege,” Heidi Murphy said.

It’s believed the man allegedly got into an altercation with another man at a licensed premises at 11:20 this morning.

It’s also believed the man arrived at the scene in a stolen Volkswagon which the police have since secured.
