Victorian Treasurer Tim Pallas is set to resign after more than a decade in the job, and will retire ahead of the 2026 election, Labor MPs have confirmed.

And Tony Jones didn’t mince his words when reacting to the announcement!

“I just think it’s a cop out, it really is,” Jones said.

“This is a treasurer who has overseen one of the greatest debacles in budgeting history in Victoria,” he said.

Channel Nine state political reporter and 3AW personality Heidi Murphy then gave her thoughts on the breaking news.
