Questions around John Pesutto’s future as opposition leader mount following defamation suit loss
Jacqui Felgate is questioning if John Pesutto can survive as opposition leader after he lost a defamation suit launched by Moira Deeming.
The Drive host makes the point he’s already survived many leadership spills as he confirms his commitment to stay in the role.
“How damaging is this for the Liberal Party? He’s now facing calls from several of his colleagues and party figures to stand down,” she said.

Director of the RedBridge Group Kos Samaras says he doesn’t think voters are too concerned with the ruling, noting it’s doesn’t come up during polling.
He notes the main issue for the Opposition Leader will be what his opponents in the Party do with the news.
“I think there’s already discussions around who the replacement might look like,” he said.
