Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a stabbing which occurred in Darley earlier this week.

Officers have been told a 17-year-old boy was dropped off in Riverbend Drive about 5:50am on December 9.

The teen made his way along Riverbend Drive when a white Ford sedan pulled into the street and a number of occupants jumped out and chased the boy to Hartog Grove.

The victim was cornered in the backyard of a property and assaulted and stabbed by a number of offenders.
