The huge amount of kindergartens Victoria will need to build over the next decade
Victoria will need to build around 900 new kindergartens over the next decade to cope with demand.
A new report from Infrastructure Victoria says 60 new government schools and 20 per cent more teaching space for TAFE will also be required.
“We certainly need to be delivering the kinders we need,” Infrastructure Victoria CEO Jonathan Spear told Ross and Russel.

Their research finds that Melbourne’s new growth suburbs will need 95 per cent of new government schools and 40 per cent of new kindergartens.
And they note, by building new and larger new schools, modelling suggests the government can save $1.5 billion to 2036.
