A concerned father has called into 3AW Drive this afternoon, after his son was almost abducted in Boronia on Tuesday morning.

It comes as police ramp up their investigation, with four attempted kidnappings in the past month, and caller James told Jacqui Felgate it’s a “scary” time for parents and their young children.

“It’s not just here that it’s happening, it’s happening in a few other suburbs of Melbourne, it’s just ridiculous,” James said.

Child safety expert and former detective, Kristi McVee, then called for parents to be more “hypervigilant” during this time, as police look to track down the perpetrator/s.

“It would be increasing anxiety for parents, especially with the fact that we’re coming up to school holidays,” McVee said on 3AW Drive.
