New Richmond recruit Josh Smillie can’t hide his excitement after landing at Punt Road during last week’s draft.

The 194cm midfielder was taken by the Tigers with pick seven, joining the club as part of a bumper draft haul for the club.

Smillie told Wide World of Sports he “couldn’t be more thankful” to join Richmond and was intent on working hard to prove himself.

“I’m living my dream and the Tigers have been so great,” he said on 3AW.

“All the boys are ready to work hard, I couldn’t be more thankful.”
