Driver and pedestrian rushed to hospital after ‘high impact’ crash in the inner-city
A serious crash has occurred on the corner of Victoria Parade and Nicholson Street, just outside of St Vincent’s Hospital, causing major traffic delays in the Fitzroy and East Melbourne areas.
Caller Leo alerted 3AW Breakfast to the news, with Seven News reporter Paul Dowsley also describing the graphic scene.
“I’ve seen some damaged cars in my time, and this is very high impact,” Dowsley told Ross and Russ.

Victoria Police have released the following statement:
Police are investigating after a serious collision in East Melbourne on Friday, 29 November.
Emergency services were called to reports a car mounted a kerb and collided with a pedestrian at the intersection of Nicholson Street and Victoria Parade about 7:05am.
The pedestrian, a teenage boy, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
The driver, a woman who is yet to be formally identified, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The car also struck five parked vehicles but no one else was injured.
