‘Get on the front foot’: Tom Elliott accuses John Pesutto of being overshadowed by Jeff Kennett
State opposition leader John Pesutto is being overshadowed by former Liberal Premier Jeff Kennett when it comes to providing an “effective and strident” alternative government, according to Tom Elliott.
The 3AW Mornings host thinks the opposition leader has the “best chance he’s ever going to have” to win power and become the next Premier at the next state election, and has called on Pesutto to “get on the front foot”.
“He (Pesutto) needs to say to people, this is why you should vote for me, and instead he’s letting the former Premier Jeff Kennett, who was last Premier 25 years ago, make all the running,” Elliott said.

“The next state election we have is going to be I think a turning point,” he said.
Jeff Kennett lately has been writing articles in the Herald Sun and has come on 3AW regularly, even giving his 10-point plan to fix Victoria.
“You’d think that he was the man running to be Premier of Victoria again in two years time,” the 3AW Mornings host said.
“John Pesutto needs to get on the front foot, when you’ve got a government which is tired and making some bad decisions, you need an effective and strident opposition.”
