Netflix’s new miniseries based on the story of a disgraced Australian wellness influencer is set to be released in the coming months.

Apple Cider Vinegar, a six-part series which was filmed in Melbourne, will tell the story of Belle Gibson, who falsely claimed she had terminal brain cancer as she built a wellness platform on social media.

Entertainment reporter Pete Ford said Ms Gibson wasn’t consulted about the show, saying she was ‘blindsided’ by the release of the show’s trailer earlier this week.

“She has not been consulted about this at all,” Pete Ford said on 3AW Breakfast.

“She has told people that she is blindsided that the trailer has dropped.”
