Pro-Palestinian protestors who have forced the cancellation of Myer’s Christmas window unveiling have been labelled “disgraceful”.

As first revealed on 3AW Mornings, the protest group were planning to disrupt the much-anticipated opening, with the event on Sunday shut down as a result of the threat.

Victorian Employers’ Chamber of Commerce and Industry CEO Paul Guerra told Ross and Russ the protesters were “morally bankrupt individuals”.

“Quite simply it’s disgraceful,” he said on 3AW Breakfast.

“We deserve to feel safe and live our lives in Melbourne without morally bankrupt individuals disrupting our way of life.”

Lord mayor Nick Reece was similarly unimpressed, saying it was an “outrage” that the official unveiling of the windows was cancelled.
