Tom Elliott has questioned why the Department of Home Affairs is seemingly looking to “cancel” the Australian flag.

Australia’s Home Affairs department has ordered flags be removed from officials’ photos and also their website, and the 3AW Mornings host can’t think of a good reason why they would do this.

“I find that extraordinary … they are an Australian government department,” he said.

Shadow Home Affairs Minister, Senator James Paterson, confirmed the news and said the removal of the flag from officials’ photos and the website is “troubling” for a couple of reasons.
