The latest details on devastating primary school crash as victim named
A primary school in Hawthorn East has spent Wednesday picking up the pieces after a car ploughed into a fence and hit students on Tuesday afternoon.
11-year-old boy Jack Davey was tragically killed in the crash at Auburn South Primary School, while four other children are still in hospital.
Lucy, who is a parent at the school and spoke to Jacqui Felgate minutes after the devastating incident on Tuesday, told 3AW the community was rallying around the devastated families involved.

“We’re standing together to do as much as we can (for all the families involved),” she told Jacqui Felgate.
“The tight-knit group that we are…(Jack Davey) loved sport and he’s just a beautiful soul.”
Deputy Premier Ben Carroll told 3AW Drive he was blown away by how the community was coming together to deal with the tragedy.

“How they’re coping is just quite incredible,” he said.
