Parking inspectors are increasingly experiencing abuse from angry public over faulty meters. 

Tash Wark, Branch Secretary for the Australian Services Union (ASU), told 3AW Drive union members are “subject to occupational violence on a fairly regular basis” , with 30 workers currently on strike.

The ASU is venturing to propose new measures to the City of Melbourne to ensure the safety of parking inspectors. One proposal includes pairing workers together on shifts.
