Academy award-winning actress Kate Winslet admits she loves playing Australian characters in movies.

The English actress, who is in Australia promoting her new film Lee, had a starring role in 2015 Australian film The Dressmaker.

She told Tom Elliott that the challenge of learning different accents – especially an Aussie one – was one of her “absolute favourite” parts of her job.

“I love doing accents,” the Hollywood star said on 3AW Mornings.

“Doing Australian accents is one of my absolute favourites, I love the rhythm and the nuances.”
