The Geelong Magistrate’s Court heard yesterday that a Corio man had been too sick to complete community work, but well enough to commit a string of alleged burglaries.

The man provided two medical certificates citing an unspecified condition as the reason he was unable to complete court-ordered community work. One of the medical certificates had been issued just four days before the alleged burglaries, and the other two days after.

This morning Ross and John asked Tony Bartone, Vice-President of the Australian Medical Association, whether doctors ever reject requests for medical certificates.
