‘Don’t want him’: Essendon told not to ‘haggle’ over Jake Stringer trade
Matthew Lloyd says Essendon shouldn’t be “haggling” over the trade price for Jake Stringer if the Giants opt to offer him a two-year deal.
The Bombers have only offered Stringer a one-year deal, leading to him exploring the market as he seeks a longer contract.
Considering the circumstances around the prospective move, Lloyd told 3AW Football’s trade podcast Essendon should simply accept a late pick in the deal and “move on”.

“If the Giants offer Jake Stringer the two year deal I don’t think Essendon should be haggling (for a better trade),” he said.
“They don’t want him at the club so you take a pick in the 50s and move on.”
