A child has been taken to hospital after being hit by a car in Richmond this morning.

Caller Leo alerted Tom Elliott to the concerning incident as the ambulance was arriving.

“My heart reached out to him,” Leo said.

Ambulance Victoria has since confirmed the child was taken to the Royal Children’s Hospital.

The injuries sustained are not believed to be critical.
