A school in inner Melbourne has been placed into lockdown, with police swarming the area on Tuesday afternoon.

Police confirmed Kew High School was currently in lockdown as a result of alleged verbal threats, while multiple callers to 3AW Drive reporting that a knife had been spotted on campus.

Steve told Jacqui Felgate police were “absolutely everywhere” around the area.
