‘I would back him’: Jeff Kennett launches strong defence of ‘decent man’ John Pesutto
Former Victorian premier Jeff Kennett is still fully behind John Pesutto as state opposition leader, saying there was no one better equipped to lead the party forward.
Mr Pesutto is bracing for a challenge to his leadership to come next week, with the likes of Brad Battin and Sam Groth tipped to take over if the opposition leader loses the Liberal leadership.
In a fiery chat with Jacqui Felgate, Mr Kennett told 3AW Drive it was time for the Liberal party to unite behind the current leader.

“I would back him – the last two or three months has shown John Pesutto to be a decent man.”
