Matthew Richardson reckons the bye rounds are better than nothing.

Only 19 games were played over rounds 11-13 as teams were given a week’s rest.

Many footy fans are disgruntled by the extended reduction in matches, but Richo told 3AW Football it’s better than everyone taking a week off at the same time.

“I’d rather footy on than no footy,” Richo said.

“I wouldn’t like a complete week off in the middle of winter.”
