Broadcasting legend Bruce McAvaney has been asked the question everyone wants an answer to – would he ever consider calling AFL games again?

Ahead of McAvaney’s footy broadcast return – where he’ll host coverage of both Preliminary Finals and the Grand Final – he was asked on Wide World of Sports whether this is a precursor to making a return to the commentary box in 2025.

Click PLAY to hear Bruce McAvaney answer the question as part of an extended interview with Sam McClure and Matthew Richardson

“I had a feeling you were going to ask me that,” he said on 3AW.

McAvaney hasn’t called an AFL game on TV since the 2020 Grand Final between Geelong and Richmond.
