Dynamic ticket prices is back in the spotlight following high demand for Oasis’ groundbreaking UK and Ireland reunion tour in 2025.

Thousands of people were left disappointed after finding out tickets were being sold for higher than their advertised rate in line with the dynamic pricing model.

Officials in the UK have defended the move, while Oasis themselves issued a statement earlier this week apologising for the chaos which accompanied ticket sales for their tour.

“We see it in accommodation and plane tickets but it’s hard to resell those things,” RMIT University Economics Senior Lecturer Dr Meg Elkins told Tom Elliott.

“This is where it gets tricky for Ticketmaster when they adjust their prices, because then that element of scalping comes in.”
