Victoria Police “can’t put a figure on” why the road toll in the state has risen again – in line with a growing trend overseas.

Joining Jacqui Felgate in the studio, road policing assistant commissioner Glenn Weir said while the death toll on our roads has increases, so has the amount of “reckless” collisions taking place.

“This is something we are seeing nationally and it’s an international trend as well,” he said on 3AW Drive.

“It’s a real concern for us, all the effort and messaging just doesn’t seem to be cutting through.”
